I agree totally. Pick your poison. Valium is the #1 abused prescription drug and no one here seems to have an issue with it. In fact we enjoy talking about it and other benzoís. Steroidís also donít seem to be a problem. However, mention Oxy and its like you mentioned Anthrax or something. In any case, for the record, I think what the posters were saying is that both Oxy and Pecocet (or Percodan if you prefer asprin) are Schedule II drugs and therefore, according to the DEA have more potential for abuse, and are more controlled than the higher Schedule drugs. Vicodin is Schedule III. Benzoís are Schedule IV. I guess they feel Schedule II is off limits??? But not Ritalin. I see that discussed without a problem. Anyway, in case your interested here is big brother's assessment of which drugs are dangerous and how so (i.e. controlled substances and their schedule). Its quite enlightening actually. I never knew so many drugs and chemical compounds were scheduled, for example. http://www.dea.gov/pubs/scheduling.html As you mentioned I take issue that the higher schedule drugs are necessarily more dangerous. To be honest I take issue with the whole U.S scheduling of drugs. Marijuana is Schedule I, supposedly the worst but I think its a lot less dangerous than, well, Oxycontin or Vicodin. Ah, but that's another issue.... |
