I can't say what happens when you get busted DD from an OP, but , I do know a person,(A Friend) that was from my town, that was doctor-shopping, she was charged with 8 felony counts,obtaining controlled substance by deception, and the DEA came right to her job.(How embarrasing)
Unfortunatly she told them everything, w/o an attorney, they promised her that if she would talk to them, and be upfront, that she would not be arrest her, as long as she was not Doctor-shopping for profit/selling meds. She told them the truth, that her Dr was undermedicating her, and that she had to go to different Dr's in order to get the right dose of medications.
She had only seen 3 different Dr's but the catch, was that she was using her reale name, and was giving the pharmacys a bogus SS#, Also she lied to all of the Dr's by not telling one about the other, and not telling them that she was already being prescribed pain meds.
The DEA lied to her when they told her that she would not be arrested, and she believed them, 6 weeks later she called me from jail, crying, and asking me to bail her out of jail her bond was 5000.0 but was later reduced to 2000.00
She said that the grand-jury indicted her?

I ended up getting the $$ from her family (a week later),and getting her out, When she went to court, the judge gave her 2 yrs probation, and she was ordered to seek drug counceling treatment.
The probation would had been prison time, but she had no prior felony's on her record.
I can't remember if they ended up dropping the felonies to misdemeanors, or if the felonies will remain on her record.

Terri
