Re: How doctors treat women vs. men?

I cannot give you a link and for that I apoligize. But repeated studies have shown that doctors are more likely to undertreat pain in women, consider their complaints psychosomatic, undertest them ,etc.

Let's start with the fundamentals of clinical trials. The FDA is lazy and will approve a drug that has not been tested on women. Case number one: Neurontin causes endometrial cancer. Do men have uteruses? Why, no! Sorry (says the FDA) we will perhaps try to get some little blurb out about that in the next 7 years by which time ALL gynecologists will have realized and saved their patients from this and the remainder will have had total hystorectomies at best and died from metastecization of the cancer on the other end of the spectrum.

And yet doctors today prescribe it to EVERYONE for "pain."
It is not an approved treatment for anything other than adjunctive anti-convulsant therapy.
