Does anyone think that doctors are more sympathetic to men or women when it comes to pain? For instance, I noticed that when I see my PCP, he (the dr.) has no problem giving me meds for my migraines. However, when my boyfriend was discharged from the hospital with a fractured skull, they gave him advil. (this was after having dilaudid shots for four days.) I know there are varying reasons for prescribing certain meds, but does anyone think dr.'s can be biased?
