...is now getting all of his medications sent from an op in Canada. My mom called last night and told me what all of us here on db already know...that American pharmaceutical companies (and insurance I suppose too) are getting richer at our expense. My grandpa has been taking two blood pressure meds, one for gout, and a couple others (I think 6 or 7 meds daily) which has been costing him alot of out-of-pocket money. Like many of our nations elderly, he is on a fixed income (pension and social security) and really cannot afford the astronomically costs of prescription meds anymore. So...my grandmother heard of a Candian op that could ship his meds to his door at half the price of what he would get here in America (California). I think that it is a shame that this is what it is coming to. It is one thing for me to complain (at 30 years old) about my medication costs, but a 91 year old man on a fixed income who can barely get out of his chair?!?! GRRRR! Pisses me off to no end! Sorry for the vent, but....
