Drugs from India are often of very high quality too. Most of the major Indian pharmaceutical companies actually produce generic drugs for export to the US and Europe. Many of the generic drugs your brother sells in his American pharmacy are produced in India or other foreign countries. because of this the major Indian pharmaceutical companies plants are inspected by the USFDA as well as the EU's equivalent agencies. Quality control is routinely audited by FDA inspectors. In fact I believe one of the major Indian pharmaceutical companies even owns and operates a plant in New Jersey. Mexico and other countries probably have a more spotty record. Another thing to consider it the existence of counterfeit drugs. This is a real problem but.... Counterfeiters always produce copies of expensive, highly profitable, name brand drugs. Not inexpensive, unprofitable, Indian generics. Your odds of receiving genuine product is probably greater with the generic than with the name brand due to all the counterfeits out there. It is not even inconcieveable that counterfeit name brand drugs could make it into the supply chain for even your brothers pharmacy and he could be unknowingly be selling them based on the actions of a corrupt distributor. Stick to the "big name" Indian generics and you have a pretty high assurance of quality.
