Re: The addict's medicine cabinet

Haivng been born, raised and still living in Ky for my 41 years, I can certainly attest to the fact that the Lexington Herald Leader...(I actually hate even having to capitalize that part), is widely thought of here as THE biggest pile of crap newspaper in the state, perhaps even the entire country. We're pretty sure that they use recycled, soiled, off brand toilet tissue, to print the thing on.
Just because a few idiot teens misuse the drug oxy and die from their deed, suddenly the entire state has a problem of epidemic proportions. Something must be done! Doctors must have the script pads either taken away or strictly controlled! Never mind that this will only make the drug more accessable than ever on the streets, and harder for valid patients to get it. I was on it for 3 years, until shortly after this story broke, then it got changed to another drug, against my will and better judgement.
15 years ago when I had my very first ever serious back injury, the meds flowed in Ky like tap water. But anymore, it's worse than a root canal to try and get a doc to prescribe what you need. They're all scared as hell that they'll get their licenses yanked, and it is happening at an alarming rate here. Sad, very sad.
So, we're stuck either going out of state, or turning to alternative means like online ordering. Nice going Ky! Great job!!
