The really rotten part of the "war on drugs" was that it was supposed to be directed toward illicit drugs being brought into the US, and those manufactured here. It's quite obvious where this 'war' is being waged. Those who are in need of even basic medical care (at least 40 million in this country are uninsured), and those who legitimately need decent pain meds, as well as the homeless and the hungry are going without because of this bogus war.
