Your best bet is to probably use a private carrier, like UPS or Fedex. You need to ask some questions at the post office to get your answers. Once the letter or package leaves it original country and ends up somewhere else, the mail carrier can and quite often does change. FOr example, mailing from the US to India or some Arab countries. I married into an Arab Family and mailing anything there is a huge problem. It will get stolen, even a dish towel won't make it. ANd there is nothing you can about it. It is a different country. I have sent things to TUrkey and India via UPS several years ago. It was around 50 dllars to mail a letter, but it was registered, and the person had to sign for it. You need to expect problems in some countries. Syria is one of the worst. I have always had better luck receiving things from foreign countires.....very few problems over the years. You need to aske the right quesitons at the post office to get your answers. Very often, express mail is not express mail when tt leaves US jurisdiction. |
