Don't even THINK about it - was there last Feb - drug sniffing dogs - luggage search - the whole nine yards. Don't know what you want to buy - but I would NOT recommend trying it - they also have VERY tough laws - and you would NOT want to wind up in a Dominican prison.....

Hotel, beach, etc are beautiful - usually price includes drinks, buffet breakfast, lunch & dinner, large pools, full body massage for one hour for 10USD and many athletic activities for those so inclined.

Very dirt poor country though and would not recommend wandering around unless you know your way around.....
