Re: Should the uninsured lay down and die?!
Well kimbel1, I have no health insurance either, thatĂs why I am here. So the answer to your question is no we should not just lay down & die! I think your theatrics of your question are a little ridiculous & am very thankful that all of the hospitals have to treat me weather they like it or not. They cannot turn anybody away for any life threatening diseases. I also can pay them whatever & whenever I choose too. They can only bill me. If I cannot afford to pay them anything this month then I don't. It is that simple. So you friend is very lucky as well as myself. If I die before the bill is paid then it will be written off & the losses will be passed on to future consumer/patients.
And yes the high rising cost of medical insurance as well as medications & treatment are also ridiculous. The doctors also cannot afford to insure themselves; I do know why the rising cost of insurance for malpractice is going up. You must know that cost gets all passed down to the consumer/patient don't you? What do you think we should do about this huge problem?
