I have one of those false-bottom Barbasol (shaving cream) fakes, which serves great for vacations (when staying in a hotel when you are there a few days and are expecting housekeeping to enter the room.)

I also use the dirty laundry basket (hamper) to hide my purse (where my pills are usually kept when at home) when I am expecting company who may be untrustworthy with meds.

But the safe is by far the best, most secure place to hide them if you have one. I was just at OfficeMax this evening and a decent, fireproof home safe can be purchased for well under $200 that can't be easily lifted and removed from it's location.
