I am so sorry, there is NO excuse for him laying his hands on you, ever, for any reason. As to the meds, I agree that if you are going to stay together you need to keep to your own meds and not "borrow" from each other as this is not safe or wise. If you decide to stay with him you definately need some type of intervention, I stayed in an abusive relationship for a LONG time and eventually my SO got help thru an anger management program, the relationship did eventually end (after ten years) but it was not due to violence but rather that he is a bad alcoholic and refuses to seek help.
