I grow lavender in my garden in the summer and dig up the whole plant and pot it (yep, big pot) and have it on my desk in my home office. It's wonderful and soothing to smell. Not much sun where I live so winter it doesn't hold a "flower" very well, but for those of you who find lavender soothing you may consider planting and potting for the winter months!
