I just read about your disappointment today, and I'm really bummed for you. With 3 kids ages 5 and under, myself, I know how important it can be to get some time away. My husband and I finally got to go out the day before Valentine's Day, and it was AWESOME. All we did was eat out and see a movie, but it had been about 4 months since we had been out at all, so it was great fun. We used all our willpower not to talk about the kids or house stuff or medical problems, and did pretty good at it. I got to realize all over again why I fell in love with him in the first place. I do hope your next set of plans aren't thwarted!

As far as the allergic reaction, maybe it was the MSG in that soup. I just gave that kind of soup to my 3 year old son for the first time the other day, and I was so afraid he would have a reaction to it. He seems to be allergic to a lot of things, just can't figure exactly what, but he was ok. My husband, though, ate a Brasilia Nut from a gift bag a doctor he works had given him, and started to go into anaphylactic shock. Thank God he works in a hospital, so they took him to the ER and gave him Benadryl. Sent him home with a script for Zyrtec. Scary, though. I hope it wasn't so bad for you.
