Re: Make Narcotics OTC - Insist on it!

Hi, padmakara.

Listen, I know this might sound strange, but one of the reasons our government won't put pure and safe drugs out there for addicts is because the addict is looked upon as a menace to society. They know the life expectancy of an addict is significantly low, so why help an addict live longer? Why help an addict with low costs for their dope? The government doesn't want these people living comfortablly. These are not my views, but what I've heard discussed amongst those who have addictions. I think it's safe to say that most of us have encountered addiction among our friends, family, or even ourselves, so having these type of conversations is not unheard of.

Although drug addiction is reaching masses no longer categorized as the poor and disadvantaged, it is mostly prevalent among communities that are poverty stricken. Sure, you'll have your handful of addicts in that nice, suburban community, but in a rural, city area, you'll find an addict in just about every home. I said just about. There are families who fight the outside temptations. Very rare does that happen when you are brought up to know nothing more. But who do you think makes these communities that way? Our own government!

Believe it or not, our government has its hand in everything, even the street drugs. You must have had this conversation with your friends...yes...no? So, our government helps put the drugs out there, in poverty sticken neighborhoods, but our governement isn't willing to help the addict find safer, more cost-effective drugs. Think about the whole, big picture. Tell me what you see.
