Re: Max Hydro Dosage at once?

I agree with everybody here who has pointed out that the actual danger (in an opiate-tolerant individual) comes from the excess tylenol, not the the hydro.

Unfortunately, many many people don't have access to local pain managenent doctors and *must* get by on hydrocodone. There are a couple of OPs out their that will prescribe specially compounded hydro/APAP in a ratios like 15/80. Unfortunately, they are very few and they are VERY expensive. There are also methods of seperating the tylenol from the hydrom which I will not discuss here, since I belive it's against the rules. I'll just say (admit?) that I *have* taken 100mg at a time, both with and without tylenol. With my tolerance, it might take the edge off the pain. On a good day. I should be on duragesic, but haven't been able to afford it.

NO, though. Taking 2 hydros at once will almost certainly not hurt you. If you follow the science behind pain management, you will learn that if a patient is already IN pain (i.e., dosage has worn off), it usually takes 130-200% of the normal analgesic dosage to start back on schedule. From there you should take it as prescribed, though.
