All of the meds I'm about to suggest may/will require good research on your dosages, but finding a doctor would be best. Clonodine is a blood pressure med used to help withdrawals from opiates (and it DOES help a lot). Sinemet is a med that helps a lot with Restless Leg Syndrome at night. Immodium as others have said on this board help with the other, unpleasant side effects. And Valium, used for 5 days, can be a great help in helping you sleep/relax. There is also a vitamin/mineral/amino acid regimen you can take after the most severe withdrawals are over that include L-Tyrosine and B6, Magnesium, Copper, Zinc, SAMe and 5-HTP and Potassium (bananas) to give you back energy and relieve depression. That and lots of hot baths. Also, I've heard that Ultram can cause more severe withdrawals than Hydro can, and dependancy can result after a shorter time of usage. My doctor and I actually discussed this recently -- personally, I would stay away from that one (partially from what I've read/heard, and also because it makes me feel really ill) . Corrie |
