I use to work for a dentist that specialized in TMJ. Your best bet would be to try and find a dentist who specializes in this area of practice as they know better than a DMD who specializes in general dentistry, ya know? That's, I guess, why they call them specialists

As for how to find a dentist specializing in this field in your area, you might want to run through your yellow pages and if you're not successful there, ask your dentist. Or, I think 1-800-Dentist is still in business? Give them a call and tell them what sort of dentist you're trying to find- hopefully they can help
