Re: HELP! I just screwed up BIGtime!

I feel for you, I know your situation all too well! After my supposed closest friend asked me if I could spare some of my 40 mg Oxy's, I tried to be nice & give him 3 (which I really needed, I was in terrible pain from a wreck), I put them back in my purse, sat my purse by the couch on the side, and walked into the other room, for like 15 seconds. I came back & my friend was in my sight for the whole time, except when he went ot the bathroom once, till it was time to take my meds again that night. I open my purse -- and my bottle isn't there. I KNEW I'd put them in there. I immediately knew he had taken them. Of course he got VERY defensive. I told him he wasn't leaving till I found my meds. I tore the house up, and found in the downstairs bathroom the bottle, shoved in an empty curling iron box -- EMPTY. So, that was hard proof that he had taken them out. The bottle had that day's date, so it was obviously my new script. I told him if he didn't give them to me, I was calling the police, and they would search him & get them for me - or he could do it the easy way & give them to me himself. He STILL denied it, and said he was going to leave! I started crying, because I was so mad, so upset, that my closest 'friend' could /would do this, esp. when he KNEW that I really needed these, not to mention I had just given him a few to be nice! Once I started crying, he started crying, and admitted he took them -- he tried to say that he was only trying to get one or two more, but I came back so fast from the other room he didnt have time, so he had to take the whole bottle (yeah, right). Anyway, he started dumping them out of his pockets, his SOCKS, and his shoes. I got back all of them but 2, which were MIA. That was the day that I discovered that he was a hard-core Oxycontin addict, and sad to say, he died from an OD a little over a year & a half ago.
Anyway, sorry to stray off so far from the post, I guess I just wanted to share my experience with my meds being taken. Ever since, and to this day, I keep them in my safe. A BIG safe. I take the amt. out I need, and put them right back. Its so unfortunate that people, even family, will go through your stuff & steal your meds.
I will definitely try that trick with the ball bearings, though! That way, you know who would try to take your meds if they could!!
Cheers,
Jen
