Re: HELP! I just screwed up BIGtime!

Lisa, that is the worst. I have had this situation happen mannny times before I started finally wising up.
1. I don't really tell people how I am any more. Usually I am asked what the doctor gave me, and I don't blurt anything out. They always ask if the doctor gave me anything for pain. Always. Sometimes it is honestly caring and other times...

The next question out of their mouth 6 out of 10 times is, "got any extra?" If I say "No" they manage to sulk and tell me they didn't realize I "Needed" them so much.
Answer:
Yeah. I need them. I am dependent on opiates. At this time. Sorry. Go get your own.
At this point your 'friend' may speak to others of her/his 'disappointment' in you. Their mouth will take on the dimensions of a bill board and the city you live in is suddenly a small, small town.
This is why you don't want this getting back to your boss, landlord, anyone.

2. When you get your new RX, split it up between several empty bottles, you follow? This way, you are not completely wiped out, and the person who takes a 'few' porportionately to the total will have less to choose from if they do find them any way. Remember NEVER to throw out your empty bottles with the labels still on them in your trash. I would not even toss blank bottles in your trash. Toss them in a dumpster or at the laundromat, with nothing else identifying in the bag.

3. I think it is time to bump up the thread on where to hide again! I used to do coat pockets, but I have found out many people do that, from here and just shared stories of found cash, so I drew my own conclusions. There are some excellent and funny posts on this hiding meds- do a search and I promise it will cheer you up. I am still thinking of a good spot....
Luck sweetie!
