The biggest caution with Ibuprofen, in my experience, has been the affects it has on the stomach. Of course, a lot of that has also to do with genetics. However, I took Ibuprofen for a period of about 2 years and wound up with a gastric ulcer that doesn't seem to ever be completely healed ... had to stop taking the iburpofen and now I can't take any kind of anti-inflamatories at all. But, yes, I can believe that added with hydrocodone, Ibuprofen would help greatly in reducing certain types of pain because it's going to help reduce inflamation.
