Sorry for the delay in geting back to you. But here is the link to the assesment quiz to immigrate to Canada as a skilled worker. http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/skilled/assess/index.html Here's the general Visa and Immigration page which is very helpful. http://www.canadianembassy.org/immigration/index-en.asp I'm not really sure how hard the whole process of moving there would be. I saw something recently that said it was hard, but I'm guessing as a US citizen it would be hard for most any of us to move to another country. We're just not wanted. No, that's not why, I'm not sure why, international politics I imagine. From everything I looked at, Canada was much easier than moving to Holland. And the advantage of Canada is that I would be alittle closer to my family in the states. I also asked some lawyers that I'm friends with who were somewhat familiar with immigration and asylum laws how hard would it be for a US citizen to immigrate to another country seeking political asylum. They said it would be next to impossible. Living in a country that doesn't have the same political beliefs as you does't qualify as the kind of persecution that is generally the requirement for such a status. Oh well for that. I thought that was a great idea. And I was sure some countries would love to jump on the opportunity even if it was just a media stunt sort of thing to show the world that US citizens are fleeing the US because of Bush, his administration, and all the Best if kept off the board that they've done in the world (and at home) since there rise to power. |
