Re: If You were going to TIQUANA MEXICO next month

I think you all will enjoy my experience going to Tiquana a few years back.
I am sure thing are a bit tighter now because my trip was pre 911 and I entered thru way of Southeren Cali. I let my friend drive down who was drinking at the time and I was taking my daily meds along side him the whole way down. Well we crossed the boarder...smooth sailing in and we began to drive around to look for some where to eat and park. I don't remember the name of the street but it was for sure main street you could tell by all the shops and things...& then out of no where a bum either stumbled in front of our car or something and we must had hit him going about a good 25 to 30 miles an hour & he rolled up over top of the hood and the roof and ended up in back of us layed out. My first thought was we are going to spend the rest of our lives in a mexican jail for killing someone. I got out of the car & thank God I speak Spanish...Crowds started to form around us say stuff like U killed him..give him something for his troubles ...help him! A few seconds passed...seemed more like hours then he started to move thank God again so my friend & I helped him up and put his shoe back on him and made sure he could stand up and I gave him a few US dollars I had loose that I had in my pocket for the trouble. We jumped back in the car & High tailed it around the corner and parked to gather our thought about what just happened. Man were we lucky & Blessed that day because if the policia showed up we were done for they would of locked us up and taken avery dime we had in our pockets including the car too most likely & that was my friends car he lent us for the day. We caught our breath and walked up the side street and found a place to get some grub to hold us over. Afterwards we went window shopping not to far away from where it all took place and one of the shop keepers with a smile on his face said to us ...O' You were the Americans who hit that guy...Great just what I did not want to hear. He went on to explain that it happens alot that a bum will on purpose walk in front of your car if you not moving to fast just to get some money out of you. I thought to myself that was the best $7.00 dollars I ever spent to get out of a jam that's for sure. We stayed over night and I hit many pharmacy"s looking for what ever I could find. In most cases I had to go to a pharmacy and they in turned called a doctor who came down to where we were and he wrote me some scripts for some Darvon ,Codinie #3...better known as Tylex and some Valiums. I think I went into one pharmacy and just payed for the meds without a script and after all that I made sure to put them in bottles I had brought that I had had some prior scripts for & disgarded the boxes but keep the scripts the doc. wrote just in case we needed them to cross back over. We stayed the night in some rundown motel & in the morning high tailed it out of there ASAP. The border crossing was a long wait with it being a Sunday morning and all the college kids were crossing back over to get to classes on Monday we just waited & waited...gave me more than enough time to think of all that had happened and if we were going to make it over the boarder at all with the meds or mayby someone got are plate #. We arrived at the terminal and the American customs agent checked are I.d.'s asked us why we went their and I replyed just for a weekend of un and I told him it was my first time visiting. He gave us back our I.D.'s and said to us welcome to Disney Land...what ever that meant. We were across the boarder and man I will never forget the trip that could have gone a whole different way but by the grace of God we made it back in one piece with the car a little banged up but no worse for wear. So there ya have it my experinece in T.J.
TheMedMan ...ps...I do look forward to going back one day but this time I think I will be a little more carefull.
