Re: Do you want to bring OTC into US?

Well, if I had been in CA this past weekend I would have seen that the pharmacy is Shoppers Drug Mart... and they have big orange signs. Life is the brand for their store... their generic, Life deodorant, Life toothpaste, Life aceto w/c & c...

OHHHHH candy bars!! I do NOT have a stockpile of "smarties" - big yummy bars of white chocolate with little tiny m&m's in them... hang on I gotta quick check under my bed for a sec... oh yeah... I'm going to start looking like that elephant if I keep sneaking under my bed!

I guess a few things have changed since I was there last... the Windsor Art Gallery is now charging a $2 admission - CA not USD - exchange rate very recently was about $1.35 USD to $1.00 CDN. So only about a buck and a half US.

The big casino was closed for the past few months - on strike, just opened last Tues... what timing!! Anyway... they are enjoying one tourists money.

There is a pharmacy that is not a chain, a few mins from the tunnel, the gal there is a doll, friendly & sweet. One thing she told me that I did NOT know is this -

People from the US can use Canada's health care - not just for a broken leg while traveling - but for other things too. I know about the seniors and low drug costs, but she said that you can go to a walk in, some of the shoppers have them or this pharm is connected to one, and the dr will rx for you for one full year - you can buy the drugs then or they will send them every 3 months, the dr visit costs - get this - about 30 US dollars.

Well, I have no insurance, and one kid needs a sports physical form filled n signed. The local doc price is $185 for that exam. Get real! It will be cheaper for me to take the kid to CA and have it done there, including gas and food AND a night in a hotel.

If you want the name, add, ph, directions for that gal and her place let me know - I wouldn't mind throwing her some more business from the US, she said a ton of their income is from US citizens, and she was happy to offer cheaper care.

Anyway - think I've rambled enough for one day!

And one more thing... I think in my earlier post I said 50mg of caffeine - it is only 15. Coke has 45 per serving and Mt. Dew has 55.
